Bloodflow has the spotlight in the 9th episode. Welcome Tiago Cunha Costa (TCC), Bloodflow Founder & CEO

Join us for another episode, the 9th, of the 3xP Global Spotlight Series — where we highlight our portfolio companies, which are turning bold ideas into impactful and sustainable business.

In the spotlight today is Bloodflow, a pioneering company leveraging the power of Artificial Intelligence to revolutionize medical diagnostics. Their cutting-edge platform automates and contextualizes the analysis of blood test results, transforming what was once a time-consuming manual process into a structured, immediate, and comprehensive report. They are enabling doctors to make faster, more confident decisions and ultimately improving patient care.

3xP: To start, could you please introduce yourself and share the story behind the creation of BloodFlow? What was the inspiration?

TCC: I’m Tiago Costa, Founder & CEO of BloodFlow. My inspiration for BloodFlow comes from my years as a high-performance swimmer at Sporting Clube de Portugal. As athletes, we relied heavily on regular blood tests to monitor performance and health. I experienced firsthand how inefficient and fragmented the process of analyzing results could be. Doctors were spending too much time reading through raw data, while patients and athletes often left with little context or clarity. That sparked the idea: what if we could automate and standardize this process, giving doctors structured, actionable insights instantly? That was the seed that grew into BloodFlow.

3xP: What is your mission, and what is the primary problem you're aiming to solve in the market?

TCC: Our mission is to remove the manual, repetitive work from doctors and give them the right data at the right time to support their medical decisions. Today, physicians spend too much energy sifting through raw blood test results, which is not the best use of their expertise. BloodFlow automates this entire process, generating structured, contextualized reports instantly, all in the background of the systems they already use. No new logins, no extra tabs, no disruption. We integrate seamlessly into existing workflows so that doctors can focus entirely on what matters most: the patient.

3xP: What are some key milestones or achievements that BloodFlow has reached so far that you are most proud of?

TCC: Closing our €1.2M Seed round with 3xP Global was a huge milestone, especially given that I started BloodFlow as a solo founder. In just two months since closing, we’ve grown from a one-person effort into a team of four (soon to be six) bringing on incredible talent across engineering, quality, regulatory and AI. For me, that transition from being alone to leading a dedicated team building BloodFlow together is one of the achievements I’m most proud of.

3xP: How do you see 3xP Global helping BloodFlow accelerate its growth and achieve its long-term goals?

TCC: 3xP Global brings more than just capital, they bring strategic vision, connections, and expertise in scaling impactful businesses. Their support allows us to strengthen our team, accelerate commercial rollouts with healthcare groups, and prepare for regulatory certification as a medical device in Europe. In short, they help us bridge the gap between being a promising startup and becoming a global health-tech leader.

3xP: Where do you see BloodFlow in 5 years? What is your biggest goal?

TCC: In 5 years, I see BloodFlow as the invisible standard layer of intelligence behind blood test interpretation worldwide. Whether it’s in hospitals, labs, or telemedicine platforms, our technology should be the invisible engine helping doctors deliver better care. Our biggest goal is to be CE-marked and FDA-cleared as a medical device, validated by large-scale clinical trials, and trusted by healthcare systems globally.

3xP: If you could give one piece of advice to an aspiring entrepreneur, what would it be?

TCC: Focus on solving a real problem and stay close to the people you’re solving it for. It’s easy to get lost in building technology for technology’s sake, but true impact comes from listening to users — in our case, doctors and patients — and building solutions that make their lives better. And remember: resilience is more important than vision. There will be setbacks, but persistence is what separates ideas from companies.
